2006 Past Bay Area Husker Events

Husker Fans during the Nebraska - Kansas Game on September 30, 2006 at Jacks Brewing Company in Fremont, CA.

To the left you can see Husker Fans were watching intensely as Nebraska fell behind late in the 4th quarter.
Spirits changed dramatically a short time later as Zac Taylor completed a 75 yard Touchdown pass to Frantz Hardy.

Everyone got excited quite quickly as you can see.
As you can tell your never too young to be a Husker Fan.

Be sure to join us at one of our Watch Sites throughout the season to cheer on the Huskers to another exciting year.
September 16,2006; NE-USC Football Game
Below - There was a tremendous turnout for ESPN Game Day from both schools.

There were even crazy Washington State fans there for some reason as you can see by the flag being waved.
Below - Here is your webmaster doing the grilling for our terrific tailgate get together which started at 6:30 am.

We had an excellent spot and many wonderful Husker Fans were able to stop by and say hello and were even treated to food and drink.

Above - Sheryl and Jan as well as the rest of us had a wonderful time hanging out with USC Parents and fans tailgating around us and Daddy Dave who was kind enough to pose for these pictures.

The last 4 pictures above show how beautiful the football scene is at the LA Coliseum even though the stadium itself is not in that great of shape. Being there gets you thinking about all the great athletes who performed inside this stadium over the years.

We can't wait till next year so we can show USC football fans what tailgating is like in Lincoln on game day an send them home after a loss to our Big Red.

July 16, 2006 Big Red Roundup Picnic gets started as Ginny Brokaw gets help shucking the great tasting sweet corn provided again by Don and Karen Pace.

Helping Ginny, with her back to the camera are Deb and John Ecklund, Emily Ray and President, Dave Pegg.
This is the Nebraska Beef that was served at the picnic.

See what you missed by not attending! These were some of the biggest steaks we have ever had at the picnic.
Carl shows us how to prepare the meat for grilling.

Banjo Band entertains us again during the picnic by playing all of our favorite songs.
The Banjo Band entertains us again during the picnic by playing all of our favorite songs.
Bobbi Gwynn as well as Karen and Norma Pace are entertained by the Banjo Band. Jan and Dave Pegg prepare for the raffle.
Dave shouts out another number to the crowd.  "Darn" I didn't win again, Dave would "say" Tammy Baier, Ginny and others look on during the raffle.
Judge "Bill" Wunderlich shows off the appropriate prize he won as now he can wear what he does on a daily basis. Sweet Corn Master, Don Pace and Past President, Jim Gwynn relax during the raffle.
Husker fans intently waiting for the next number to be called. Another group having a good time during the picnic.
Make plans now to attend the annual summer picnic.  It's always held around the same time each July.

We look forward to seeing you next year.
More Husker fans enjoying the picnic.
